Keep Griffith Wild
Los Angeles lies in a globally recognized biodiversity hotspot, and Griffith Park is home to unique flora and fauna.
The City’s Bureau of Engineering has proposed and the Dept. of Recreation & Parks are considering an expansion of the Los Angeles Zoo that would result in a significant loss of over 20 acres of native woodland habitat including 201 City Protected Trees and Shrubs, such as coast live oaks and toyons, and rare and a near-threatened California black walnut trees. All to turn the zoo into a theme park for visitors during the 2028 Olympics.
