Ep. 1: Donziger v. Chevron

An organizer at Extinction Rebellion-LA, Steven started out as a concert promoter for Bob Marley & The Wailers, headed the New York film office for the William Morris Agency, produced award-winning independent features and television for MTV and CBS. He left mainstream media to co-found the LA Independent Media Center, run KPFK-FM, help establish the Right To Water at the United Nations with Sundance doc FLOW: For Love of Water, then serve as a producer on the Oscar-nominated urban farming doc The Garden. Digital efforts include an Emmy nomination for pioneering the emergence of online creator economies with Revver, then online co-creation with Occupy Wall Street and 350.org.  In Spring of 2024, after 24 years of development, he and co-founder Ian Clarke are now launching Freenet, a fully decentralized internet.

XRNOW! airs wednesdays at 4:00 pm on kpfk.org, 90.7 FM Los Angeles, 98.7 FM Santa Barbara, 93.7 FM North San Diego, AND 99.5 FM IN Ridgecrest/China Lake.
